Dynamic lines are lines that are caused by facial expressions like frowning, smiling or squinting. Repetitive movements lead to wrinkles such as Crow’s feet, Frown Lines and lipstick lines. As we get older, and our skin loses its elasticity these dynamic lines become more permanent and visible.
Anti-wrinkle injections work by temporarily paralysing the muscles on the face, when injected this prevents skin above from creasing up and causing wrinkles. This works for expression lines such as frown lines by smoothing them and preventing them from becoming more prominent.
Treatment starts to work 3 to 14 days after injections and lasts three to four months. Different areas when treated with different doses will last longer or less. After your injection you may have slight swelling or redness, most people are fine to return to work after treatment.
Only post care instruction is not to lie down, exercise or massage treated area for 4hrs.
A very tiny needle is used for the injections. It’s a well-tolerated procedure. You will feel a mild sting. If you are concerned about pain or discomfort, ice can be used for comfort or a topical anaesthetic cream agent can be applied to the area before injection although it’s typically not required.
In very rare cases, a lid or brow droop may occur temporarily.
